Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, better known as Baba Ijesha, who was detained by police for alleged sexual assault has been granted bail. His lawyer, Adesina Ogunlana, confirmed this to newsmen on Monday. “He has been granted bail about one hour ago. We are working to perfect the bail. He was granted bail on health grounds. He has not been released. He will be released after his bail conditions have been perfected,” he said. According to the lawyer, among the bail conditions listed for the release of the actor are two reliable sureties – one of them must be a level 10 officer, a direct blood relation, and N500,000 bail bond in like sum. Princess denies authorizing release of CCTV footage showing Baba Ijesha molesting foster child

Nigerian Comedienne Damilola Adekoya, better known as Princess, has denied authorising the release of the CCTV footage showing actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, alias Baba Ijesha, sexually molesting her foster child. The disturbing clip, which was uploaded by an online media platform Sunday morning, has since gone viral on social media. It shows 48-year-old Baba Ijesha hugging, kissing and fondling his 14-year-old victim. Nollywood actor arrested for ‘defiling’ minor

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 48-year-old Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James aka Baba Ijesha, for defiling a minor. The case of defilement was reported on 19th April, 2021 by one Princess Adekola Adekanya at Sabo Police Station and transferred to the Gender Unit of the State CID, Panti, Yaba Lagos for proper investigation. Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim, 14 years ago, when she was 7 years old. The suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for proper investigation as he promised to do justice in the matter.
