The nominations for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards came out today (Sept. 22), and Post Malone led the list with 16, including one for top artist. So who should win in that category? Taylor Swift made history when she dropped her 2020 surprise album Folklore in July, which topped the Billboard 200 for six weeks to tie Whitney Houston‘s record for most cumulative weeks at No. 1 among women. It could be her third time collecting this award, since she won top artist in 2013 and 2015. Post Malone leads the 2020 Billboard Music Awards nominations, which dick clark productions and NBC announced on Tuesday (Sept. 22). The “Wow.” rapper is nominated 16 times in 15 categories, followed by first-time nominees Lil Nas X with 13 and Billie Eilish with 12. Khalid ties Eilish with 12 nominations. Among other nominees is Kanye West, whose Jesus Is King album grabbed him nine nominations in Christian categories including top Christian artist, top gospel artist, top Christian album, top gospel album and top Christian song. Eddie Murphy & Dave Chappelle Win Big At Creative Arts Emmy Awards
‘SNL’ has now won 83 Emmys, more than any other series in TV history. Forty years after he burst to stardom on Saturday Night Live, Eddie Murphy won his first Emmy Award on Saturday (Sept. 19) for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series for his return to the show. A tie for entertainer of the year? Beautiful. Crazy. There was a shocker at the end of the 55th ACM Awards, the first tie for entertainer of the year (or any major category, for that matter) in the show’s history. The co-winners were Carrie Underwood, winning in the category for the third time, and Thomas Rhett, winning in the category for the first time. Swift is the first woman in ACM history to win entertainer of the year three times. She previously won the award in 2008-09. On Wednesday night (Sept. 16), the Academy of Country Music finally got to hold its long-delayed awards ceremony. Postponed from the original April 5 date after the pandemic sent everyone into lockdown, the 2020 edition of the ACM Awards moved to Nashville for the first time, adjusted to social distancing and no audience and still managed to pull of a show that had plenty of striking moments—including a tie for the coveted entertainer of the year.
