The 2021 British Independent Film Awards were held at Old Billingsgate in London on 5 Dec. to honour 2021’s most innovative and creative independent filmmaking and filmmakers in the UK. And whilst the focus of the evening was on the incredible films and talented actors, directors, and screenplay writers, the nominees and guests used the opportunity to show off some incredible style. After going virtual last year, the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards were held in-person in Budapest, Hungary, at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna. After multiple delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2021 National Television Awards are finally here. Originally scheduled to take place in January, the ceremony — which honours the best of the best of British television — was delayed twice until a September date was eventually set. BRITs 2021: Fashion’s New Socially Distanced Accessory Is a Pair of Opera Gloves
Opera gloves were the unexpected accessory of choice at the 2021 BRIT Awards. Held live from London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday, 11 May, some of the best dressed stars on the red carpet had a few things in common: pastel ruffles, neon gowns, and “COVID friendly” accessories like designer masks, socially distanced headpieces, and opera gloves that completed a co-ordinated look. Two of the most memorable outfits on the red carpet came from Mabel and Raye. The singers wore body-hugging neon gowns with Mabel in lime green, Raye in fuchsia, and long elegant opera gloves to match. The 2021 BAFTA Film Awards red carpet looked a little different this year, with our favourite celebrities’ fashion choices coming from the red carpet and at-home, virtual photo shoots. Hosted by Edith Bowman and Dermot O’Leary, the presenters and nominees throughout the evening had us buzzing to get dressed up again by giving glimpses of sartorial selections that ranged from shimmering dresses to smart suits.
