Stream: Tomorrowland’s One World Radio Tribute to Avicii Is Now Live

To remember Avicii three years to the day after his tragic death, Tomorrowland‘s One World Radio is airing a special tribute episode to the legendary dance music artist. Over 60 of Avicii’s classic songs are being streamed throughout the day today, as well as live set highlights from his iconic performances at Tomorrowland. The tribute stream will include interviews from Avicii’s contemporaries, including “I Can Be The One” collaborator Nicky Romero and famed “Wake Me Up” vocalist Aloe Blacc, who will wax poetic about the late producer’s legacy. City of Stockholm to Build Memorial for Avicii in Humlegården Park

The city of Stockholm is planning to build a special memorial dedicated to legendary dance music artist Avicii. The district of Östermalm—where Avicii resided—is working with the late artist’s father, Klas Bergling, and his Tim Bergling Foundation to develop the memorial in the Humlegården park. The project was commissioned to remember those who have fallen victim to mental illness in Sweden and to pay homage to Avicii, whose poor mental health stemming from the stress of his grueling tour schedule led to his tragic death in 2018. Avicii’s Biography Receives Official North America Release Date

The road to Tim: The Official Biography of Avicii has been a long and winding one.  In 2019 it was revealed that Swedish writer Måns Mosesson was given the green light to release the biography the following year after Albert Bonniers Förlag received authorization from Avicii Music AB, the company responsible for the late DJ’s assets and brand following his death. The date was later pushed back to 2021 but had yet to receive an official North America release date until now. In an interview with the Daily Star, Aloe Blacc referenced that he still has several unreleased collaborations and ideas that he started working on with Avicii—projects he hopes will eventually see the light of day.  The powerhouse singer-songwriter behind two of Avicii’s biggest hits, “SOS” and “Wake Me Up,” has been vocal in years past about having several works with Avicii in progress. A Memorial for Avicii is Being Built in Stockholm

The late Avicii is being honored in his hometown of Stockholm with a new memorial site. The news comes almost three years after the tragic passing of the beloved producer.  The plans have been announced by the Stockholm local chapter of the liberal Moderaterna party which chairs the district committee of the capital district of Östermalm. The memorial site is said to be approved by next Thursday.
