Growing up as a twin, you constantly answer the same question with the same explanation: “Yes, we’re twins. No, we can’t read each other’s minds.” But that doesn’t seem to be the case for 21-year-old twin sisters Kiran and Nivi Saishankar, who sing in astonishingly pure harmony as some sort of clairvoyant prodigies. Their natural ability to sing raw, flawless harmonies in covers of major songs has helped them emerge as TikTok darlings, and two of the platform’s most talented songsters. The Saishankar twins’ TikTok page, which has over two million followers, features legions of incredible song covers. They take on Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie,” Pink’s “Try,” the inescapable Squid Game theme ...

On a personal level, Mike Posner has likened the loss of Avicii and his father to being doused with a bucket of ice water in the middle of the night. The sobering events resulted in a near instantaneous shift in the Grammy-nominated artist’s perspective, inspiring him to break the comforts of his daily life in ways few would expect—and even fewer would attempt to replicate. Nowadays, pushing aside the cushy comforts of a Top 40 artist is becoming second nature for Posner, who is learning to appreciate the trials and triumphs of each passing moment. Posner summarizes his outlook with “Amor Fati,” a near and dear phrase which translates to “love of fate” in latin. In an exclusive interview with EDM.com, Posner candidly reflected on his rel...
Unreleased music written by Avicii is rare, but Nile Rodgers may have access to a treasure trove. The famed guitarist and singer-songwriter recently appeared on Norwegian-Swedish television talk show Skavlan, where he chatted about music he recorded with the late dance music legend. According to Rodgers, their collaborative vault contains many never-before-heard musical ideas, which he wants to release with the blessing of Avicii’s family and estate. Rodgers co-wrote Avicii’s single “Lay Me Down,” which appeared on Avicii’s 2013 debut album, True. He said that if Avicii’s family asked him, he would happily mix the many other tracks they recorded because he “knew what Tim was thinking.” Rodgers also added that he’s not i...
For dance music fans, about three seconds is all it takes to recognize the classic intro of Avicii‘s “Levels.” The late dance music legend’s estate is now celebrating the 10-year anniversary of his breakthrough 2011 single by releasing a special live recording of “Levels” from Ushuaïa Ibiza. Avicii’s August 28th, 2016 performance there turned out to be his final concert, as he retired from touring that year and tragically passed away in 2018. This particular clip of “Levels” was originally part of 2017’s Avicii: True Stories documentary but was removed after the film’s theatrical run. A brand new documentary, directed by Henrik Burman, is due in 2023. Watch the “Levels (Live In Ibiza)” video, whi...
While the public’s appetite for unreleased Avicii music is seemingly evergreen, Mike Posner has some complicated emotions on whether the ideas he was working on with the late dance music legend should see an official release. In an interview with Distractify, Posner says he feels “conflicted” about releasing any music Avicii had a hand in without his permission. He reasons that Avicii was a perfectionist at heart, and he would have dug into the nitty gritty details of their collaborative ideas before endorsing any of their projects for release. “On one hand, some of the ideas we had started are really awesome. And then at the same time, he didn’t finish,” Posner said. “Avicii, he was a perfectionist. Like, he had to get every detail right. So I fee...

Avicii receives another beautiful homage from “Fade Into Darkness” vocalist Andreas Moe, who has premiered a stunning acoustic version on EDM.com. Five-time Platinum-certified songwriter Moe is the original vocalist for the song and wanted to pay tribute on the 10-year anniversary of its release. “Fade Into Darkness,” which remains a favorite amongst fans of the late electronic music icon, was Moe’s first big feature back in 2011. It remains a generational dance anthem to this day. The tune’s original sound is upbeat in nature with soaring vocals to complement it, but Moe’s acoustic rendition allows the listener to take a step back and admire the message laid out within. Moe keeps it barebones and allows for his warm guitar pluc...
