Taking us across a cosmic journey, New Jersey-based producer Au5 has teamed up with Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter HALIENE to produce a sky-high melodic bass track called “Was It You.” The production follows his latest masterful collaboration with Tritonal and Dylan Matthew, “Happy Where We Are,” and his recent single “Anywhere,” in which he partnered up with prominent bass music duo SLANDER. “Was It You” takes listeners through the highs and lows of emotive bass music, with deep basslines and warm synths layered underneath an ethereal topline from HALIENE. Her distinctly dreamy sound is accompanied by Au5’s signature production style, making “Was It You” a must-listen. With his unique melodic sound ...
SLANDER are no strangers to massive collaborations. They most recently connected with Excision for their highly-anticipated track, “Your Fault.” Back in November, they teased a collaboration with Au5 at Ultra Taiwan. Today, their collaboration “Anywhere” featuring shYbeast and PLYA arrives via SLANDER’s Heaven Sent imprint. “Anywhere” is the perfect blend of SLANDER and Au5’s sounds. Not only have they unleashed a crowd-pleasing festival anthem, but it arrives as a complex addition to both artists’ discographies. Both shYbeast and PLYA offer an excellent dose of gorgeous vocals as they croon about love and loyalty. “Anywhere” marks the third release on SLANDER’s newly-minted label. With m...
Late last year, SLANDER further solidified their legacy with the announcement of their Heaven Sent imprint. To accompany the launch, the duo premiered their hotly anticipated song “Hurts Sometimes” with Fairlane and Jonathan Mendelsohn. Today, bass music prodigy Au5 makes his debut on Heaven Sent with “The Way To Infinity.” “The Way To Infinity” conjures feelings of nostalgia while simultaneously infusing the New Jersey producer’s signature sound. A slow-burning, dreamy intro paves the way for punchy kicks and soaring, reverberating synths. Au5’s ballad strays from the traditional future bass love song, as the masterfully programmed vocals add an effortlessly catchy layer atop a thrilling blend of heavy and melodic moments. A...
SLANDER has given fans another track to clamor for just days ahead of the release of their upcoming collaboration with Excision. Due to their country’s reported success in the fight against COVID-19, Taiwanese dance music fans were able to enjoy a proper music festival over the weekend. During their performance at Road to Ultra Taiwan, SLANDER used the now-rare opportunity to drop a new festival anthem made in collaboration with Au5. Titled “Anywhere,” the duo took to Twitter and shared the debut performance of the unreleased, uplifting melodic bass tune. Clearly crafted to be played in front of thousands of people, the trio fuses their signature sounds and takes listeners back to those late nights under the illuminated sky dancing with our best friends. Consid...
Last year, the Wakaan bass label culminated a five year journey from beginning to fruition with Wakaan Music Festival, which hosted 50+ artists and 10,000 fans in Ozark, Arkansas. Rather than relish the success, Liquid Stranger—the label’s founder—announced mid-performance at WMF that he would be debuting a new sub-label, SSKWAN. Now over halfway through 2020, this promise has manifested via a 7-track LP from New Jersey producer Au5, who provided support on the first Wakaan tour with Liquid Stranger five years ago. With his polymorphous production style that features trance, dubstep, ambient, house, and downtempo, Au5 was a perfect choice to debut the new imprint. ALCHEMY delivers on the hype for SSKWAN’s debut. Fans are christened on the introduction track “Alche...
Denver-based melodic dubstep wunderkind Au5 has arrived with “Answers,” a scintillating bass single arriving by way of renowned electronic label Enhanced Music. The verses of “Answers” ebb and flow with ease, fluttering through the arrangement in half-time while flanked by lush soundscapes and Au5’s own airy vocals. The track brilliantly balances on the wire of midtempo and melodic, especially in in its first drop, which makes expert use of vocal chops to intricately interweave elements of glitch hop. Au5 then goes on to dial up a mammoth second drop, eschewing the synthwave flavors of the first to uncork a rip-roaring midtempo and future bass hybrid segment to bring the track home. “Answers” not only marks Au5’s debut on Enhanced, ...
