Bandits kill three people in attack on Kaduna village

Bandits have attacked Ganji village in Igabi local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday evening killing three people and leaving at least five people with gunshot wounds. Locals told newsmen that the bandits stormed Ganji, a village close to Albasu which was attacked also attacked last year on motorcycles and set ablaze homes and a vehicle. Lado Ibrahim, a resident said the bandits invaded the community around 5:30pm in over 30 motorcycles two on each and shot at residents before jamming them with the motorcycles. He said five people have been taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds while a military helicopter has been hovering the area to scare the bandits away. Boko Haram: Nigerian Army commanding officer, four others laid to rest in Borno

The Nigerian Army has buried a commanding officer and four other soldiers killed in the attack on the military base in Marte local government of Borno state. The attack occurred on February 14 when the Commanding officer Bedan Ishaya, now late, a Major from the 22 battalion led a reinforcement to Marte to support dislodged troops. The insurgents had hoisted their flags in Marte for at least a week before the Chief of Army Staff’s 48 hours ultimatum to troops (at the 81 DIV Task Force battalion which is also the headquarters of Super Camp 9 Dikwa) leading to Marte’s recapture. Sokoto villages deserted as bandits kill residents

Suspected bandits have raided some communities in the eastern part of Sokoto state, killing four persons and rustled several livestock. Colonel Garba Moyi (rtd), the state Commissioner for Carrier and Security Matters, confirmed the attacks, saying three persons were killed at Bargaja village in Isa local government area while one was killed in a community under Sabon Birni local government. Shiek Gumi: Bandits I met not behind Zamfara schoolgirls abduction

A prominent Islamic cleric, Shiek Ahmad Gumi, says the abduction of schoolgirls in Zamfara was not carried out by bandits he met with recently. On Friday, some gunmen had invaded the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata-Mafara local government area of the state, and abducted schoolgirls. Troops foil Boko Haram attack, rescue passengers in Borno

Nigerian troops have foiled an attack from Boko Haram and ISWAP and rescued passengers along the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway in the Auno axis of Borno State. Though the insurgents’ attack was repelled, a military intelligence officer disclosed that several passengers onboard commercial vehicles along a major road in Auno were rescued by troops, after the terrorists’ onslaught.
