See Three West African Songs That Has Potential Influence On Pop Culture

In West Africa, music creators like Zlatan Ibile, Olamide, Burna Boy, Naira Marley, Wizkid and Davido, have curated tracks that looped into and balanced in pop culture spaces, and most times they alter our behaviors and perspectives, how we react to their music publicly and see society inclusively. In 2017, Olamide, co-inspired the mainstream success of the popular Nigerian “Shaku Shaku” dance through his street infectious records like “Wo”, “Science Student”, and more before several Nigerian acts began to embrace, and stuck with the creation of records tapping from the glories of Shaku dance that beamed between 2017, and the near end of 2018. Songs like Reminisce’s “Problem” peaked into the street numbers and raised the bar of cultural influence in Nigeria. DJ Consequence’s “Assignment” t...

THROWBACK: Nasty C is The Coolest Kid In Africa, Not Davido, He Hunts Everything Down

The 2016 record, “Coolest Kid In Africa” by Davido, which features Nasty C is like a fresh experience of Davido hooking and chorusing his desires on a different genre at that time; he flagged himself as the coolest kid from his continent, putting himself on the frontiers to become elevated through the songs’ theme and his almost weak delivery. He kept delivering at his own pace to make one perceive the belief (as Africa’s coolest kid), whereas the coolest kid wasn’t farfetched either, but was close to him and was unleashing the perfection in his creative orthodox through the genre which his cool rap has been part of making his entire music, he has been laying pensive rest to rap culture, hip-hop and emo-trap music from the entire continent (Africa). REVIEW: Apart From Braggadocio, Burna Bo...

REVIEW: Jae5’s “Dimension” Carries Cultural Expository With It, Were Afro Culture Is Significant

On Jae5’s “Dimension”, Rema’s hook and chorusing were full of self-expression and it was hot. Rema’s presence was a strong Afro-cultural significance representing a young Nigerian hustler who understands how to fend for his needs, extending the same compassion with his family. His lyrical XP relates to his hoodies (peers) he started hustling with and how most of them have been caged on various custody. He claims to come from another dimension, giving great essence to the theme of the record as He takes introspection into his past where he would never cease to forget the pains he took growing from day one to this point of his greatness. Rema’s pop significance story’s hustling Nigerians who push towards claiming the life they desire, and in between the hustle, they get to face with police b...

REVIEW: Apart From Braggadocio, Burna Boy’s “Kilometre” Is On Various Context

Kilometre can mean various contexts from Burna Boy’s music career in the midst of being one of the 2021 Grammy Award winners on the Best World Album categories. He is aware of his detractors and those who flare hate on him and his music, the greatness is what he seeks and what he has become so far so he joins braggadocio into the un-hypnotic pop levers in the successful creation of Kilometre, where he advises other musicians to learn from the teachers and tend to compare his staying power to iconic Nigerian Juju musician, Shina Peters. RELATED: LeriQ: Has Been Responsible for The Root Morphing of The ‘African Giant’ Burna Boy He claims to have walked many Kilometres, and the first context is his consistency despite the braggadocio that comes forth in the creation. Kilometre conceptualizes,...

Forget Naira Marley First, Erigga Is A Major Bad Influence His Street Music Entangles

Erigga’s music is unapologetic street music that entangles. The outcome of this entanglement after soaking your ears and mind to his music could be more harm than good. Because street music mostly beams more negative influence on indecisive listeners; then I think it should be restricted to persons below age 18, at least only to those adults who could be easily hooked by the law or crime watch-dogs when they turn out culprits, probably because they’ve been fazed and strongly entangled by the music which goes down there axle with ripple influences and manifests through their behavior on occasions. “Music is powerful. As people listen to it, they can be affected. They respond.” – Ray Charles. Erigga raps and sings alongside Zlatan on their song titled, “Two Criminals”, off Erigga’s four...
