Super Eagles right-back Shehu Abdullahi was voted Omonia Nicosia’s Most Valuable Player following his impressive display in their 0-0 draw at Apollon Limassol in the Cypriot top-flight on Wednesday. Abdullahi was voted as the best player in the game by Omonia Nicosia’s fans. Reacting to the award Abdullahi thanked his club fans for voting for him. He also dedicated the award to his teammates and coaching crew. “I want to appreciate our fans for voting me as the MVP in our last game at Apollon Limassol,” he wrote on his verified Twitter handle. “Dedicating the honour to my teammates and coaching staff for the teamwork.” Omonia Nicosia currently occupy third position on 37 points, three points behind leaders Apollon Limassol in the 14-team league table. UEFA releases possible dates for Champions League games

UEFA’s plan to complete the Champions League and Europa League continues. The plan says that they will be played throughout the month of August once the leagues are done in July. UEFA have an idea which is to end the season by the end of August. Therefore, the domestic leagues need to be completed by the end of July. The proposal is for the remaining last 16 games to be played in the first week of the month. On 26th and 29th August, Gdansk and Istanbul will host the Europa League and Champions League finals respectively. ‘Marca’ says that they will try and stick to that instead of playing both the finals at the same venue.
