As previously announced, Cudi will star as the “charming, creative visionary” Jabari, whose best friend and weed dealer turned crypto bro Jimmy is played by Timothée Chalamet. Dillon Francis is taking his channel-surfing sensibilities to the big screen as the star of a new social media-based streaming series.  The show, titled Couch Kings, will see the hit-making DJ working alongside his childhood best friend, Eric Hamilton. The series, consisting of four initial episodes, goes live on FailArmy’s social media channels this week. Each animated episodes represents a day in the life of Francis and Hamilton as they navigate a series of wacky, absurd, and sometimes gut-busting scenarios all originating from the comfort of their home sofa. Dan Harmon and Nathan Pyle Adapt Strange Planet for Apple TV+ Animated Series

Over the past few years, Nathan Pyle has become an internet sensation thanks to Strange Planet, his beloved webcomic series in which aliens describe everyday human things in otherwise oddball terms. Now, Pyle’s webcomics-turned-graphic novels are becoming an Apple TV+ show with help from Dan Harmon. According to Deadline, Pyle and Harmon will executive produce the new show together. When issuing a straight-to-series order for Strange Planet, the streaming giant also brought on Joe Pera Talks with You and Over the Garden Wall screenwriter Amalia Levari as a showrunner. Apple Studios and ShadowMachine, the animation studio behind Bojack Horseman, will produce the series as well.
