Inside Skyline Festival’s Techno Takeover of Downtown Los Angeles

The sounds of the underground were unleashed on downtown Los Angeles in February, when Skyline Festival returned for two days dedicated to house and techno’s finest.  Taking place February 26-27, the fest saw heavy-hitters like Claptone, Maya Jane Coles, Anfisa Letyago and Sonny Fodera take to its pair of massive outdoor stages. Detroit’s Legendary Movement Music Festival Reveals 2022 Headliners

After announcing their comeback late last year, the organizers of Detroit’s legendary Movement Music Festival have revealed the event’s 2022 headliners. Though this is only a small glimpse of what’s to come, it’s a spectacular lineup so far. Nina Kraviz, Seth Troxler, Anfisa Letyago, Adam Beyer, The Blessed Madonna, Richie Hawtin, Claude VonStroke, and more were among the first to be announced. The latest project by Anfisa Letyago is here—and it’s a three-parter. First up is Listen & Nisida (Remixed) Vol 1, a four-track remix pack of tracks off the techno producer’s 2021 EPs, Listen and Nisida. Featuring reworks by DJ Rush, Adiel, Boston 168 and Chris Liebing, the EP’s 25 minutes are a techno pièce de résistance, acting as a showcase of the styles that are currently taking over the genre.  Under Boston 168’s care, for example, “Gravity” becomes eerily otherworldly, as a mischievous new synth line flows tauntingly alongside Letyago’s echoing vocals. Liebing, on the other hand, opted for a more minimalistic feel with his take on “Not There,” stripping the track down to a four-on-the-floor beat and unclutt...

Skyline Festival to Bring Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Maya Jane Coles, More to Los Angeles

“The LA skyline is changing in 2022,” according to Insomniac‘s West Coast event banners, Factory 93 and Day Trip.  And we owe it all to the rejuvenated Skyline Festival, which was announced today. The 21+ event is set to take over downtown L.A. next month on February 26th and 27th, with two outdoor stages.  Featuring a star-studded lineup of house and techno music, scheduled performers include Anfisa Letyago, Chris Lake, Green Velvet, Maya Jane Coles, Noizu and Sonny Fodera. After a monster phase two lineup announcement for Ultra Music Festival 2022, the landmark EDM event has now announced that its roster will also include the return of its underground brand, RESISTANCE Island.  Originally debuted in 2019, the techno and house showcase will be headlined by the likes of Adam Beyer, CamelPhat, John Summit and Nina Kraviz.
