Anna Fishko to Write New Orphan Black Sequel Series

Anna Fishko has been tapped to write and executive produce AMC’s new iteration of Orphan Black, Variety reports. First announced in 2019, the new Orphan Black is set not to reboot the original — which saw Tatiana Maslany star as Sarah Manning, leader of a pack of human clones — but to tell a new story within the same world. The exact plot of the sequel has yet to be revealed; perhaps it it will follow one of Manning’s “sisters.” John Fawcett and Graeme Manson created the original Orphan Black, which ran on BBC America from 2013 to 2017. AMC to Sell Popcorn Outside of Theaters

AMC is bringing its popcorn to the people. Starting next year, the theater chain will begin selling the movie-watching must-have in shopping malls across America. AMC Theaters Perfectly Popcorn will also reportedly be available in 2022 via home delivery services, meaning movie buffs will be able to enjoy theater-quality popcorn in the comfort of their own at-home movie nights. The brand also plans to eventually expand by offering prepackaged and microwaveable varieties of the snack at retail outlets such as grocery and convenience stores in the near future. “AMC knows popcorn ever so well. The Walking Dead to End with Season 11

After more than a decade, The Walking Dead is finally ready to rest. As Deadline and EW note, the long-running horror series will come to an end in 2022 after an expanded 11th season. But just as one zombie falls only to be replaced by another, so does a new spinoff of The Walking Dead stumble on in its place. The new untitled series will star Norman Reedus‘ Daryl and Melissa McBride’s Carol, and is expected to debut in 2023. AMC Plans To Open Theaters In July, Moviegoers Still Uneasy

As the world begins to slowly open up, AMC hopes its theaters will be back in business as well. July, that’s the target for AMC if things go as plan. During a recent earnings call, the company’s CEO Adam Aron boldly revealed that he expects that 97 percent of the company’s locations to be opened by next month The Wall Street Journal reports. AMC had to close all of its theaters back in March due to the COVID-19 global pandemic being that going to the movies falls under the mass gathering’s category.
