Sneaker Pimps Return with “Squaring the Circle”, Their First New Song in Two Decades: Stream

English trip-hop veterans Sneaker Pimps have returned with “Squaring the Circle,” the title track to their first new album in nearly two decades. Additionally, they’ve revealed a second song called “Fighter”. Listen to both below. Set for release this fall, Squaring the Circle was written, performed, and produced by founding members Chris Corner and Liam Howe, alongside vocalist Simonne Jones. Spanning 16 tracks in length, the album was recorded at Sawtooth Studios in Pioneertown, California and The Tower Studios in London, UK. Mass defection: House member asks PDP national chairman to resign

Rep Rimamnde Shawulu (PDP-Taraba), has urged the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Uche Secondus, to resign following mass defection from the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Shawulu said this a letter addressed to the chairman and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday. He decried the rate at which the party was losing members to the ruling APC in recent times. Shawulu also urged members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to resign. “Today, unexpectedly, four members of the House of Representatives from Zamfara defected from the PDP to APC,” he said. Sufjan Stevens has announced a new collaborative album with Asthmatic Kitty label mate Angelo De Augustine. Entitled A Beginner’s Mind, it’s due for release on August 24th. As a preview, the duo has shared two songs: “Reach Out” and “Olympus”. Damon Albarn has officially announced his sophomore solo album, The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows. It’s out November 12th via Transgressive Records, and he also shared the title track and revealed rescheduled 2022 tour dates. Originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, the Gorillaz mastermind revisited the project during COVID-19 lockdown and further developed it to explore themes of fragility, loss, emergence, and rebirth.
