Here’s news that will leave you grinning: According to longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have completed their new album under the moniker The Smile. And despite the rocking preview they offered during a Glastonbury livestream in May, Godrich insists it’s “not a rock record.” Godrich has been described as Radiohead’s sixth member, and since he’s also produced Yorke’s solo work and side project Atoms for Peace, it’s no surprise to find him behind the boards of The Smile. In a new interview with The Coda Collection, he dropped a few hints about this “not a rock record,” saying, “It’s an interesting juxtaposition of things, but it does make sense. A de-aged Paul McCartney is here to dance through your nightmares in the new video for Beck’s version of “Find My Way.” The track appeared on McCartney III Imagined, a collection of heavy-hitting covers of tracks from the master’s latest album McCartney III. With “Find My Way,” Beck transformed a rock tune that could have come from any decade into a disco funk banger, with off-kilter percussion that transported Macca back to the groovy music of his youth. Khruangbin Announce 2021-2022 North American Tour Dates

Houston-based psychedelic funk trio Khruangbin have mapped out an extensive North American tour  stretching from late July through next spring. The 39-date outing, which mixes headlining shows alongside festival appearances, comes in support of the group’s 2020 album, Mordechai. Among the notable dates found on the tour’s itinerary are four shows at Stubb’s in Austin, three nights each at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and The Eastern in Atlanta, and two gigs at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO. The tour concludes in early March 2022 with a pair of dates at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall. Eels have detailed a 2022 spring tour in support of their latest album, Earth to Dora, which dropped in October 2020. The European and US trek will take place from March through May. After kicking off the tour on March 11th in Belfast, the veteran indie rockers will travail across Europe while making stops in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, and more. Sparks Announce First North American Tour in Five Years

Sparks have scheduled their first full-scale North American tour in five years. The 17-date outing kicks off in early February with a pair of previously announced dates at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Starting in March, the duo of Ron and Russell Mael will play shows across the US and Canada, including stops in San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, New York City, and Boston, before wrapping up on April 2nd in Toronto.
