Travis Barker Flies on Airplane for First Time Since 2008 Crash
Travis Barker flew on a plane for the first time since the deadly 2008 plane crash which killed four people and left the Blink-182 drummer with third and fourth degree burns on more than half of his body. TMZ reports that on Saturday, Barker flew to Cabo with his girlfriend, Kourtney Kardashian. The crash on September 19th, 2008 occurred just after takeoff as the plane overran the runaway and crashed into a fence. The plane’s two pilots and two of its four passengers were killed instantly; the two lone survivors, Barker and DJ AM, suffered critical injuries. Simon Gallup, The Cure’s bassist and second longest-serving member, has announced his departure from the band. In a brief statement posted to his personal Facebook page on Saturday, Gallup wrote, “With a slightly heavy heart I am no longer a member of the Cure! Chris Cornell’s Final Portraits to Be Auctioned as NFTs
Images from Chris Cornell’s last photoshoot are set to be minted and auctioned off as a pair of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The portraits were taken by Randall Slavin just before the Soundgarden frontman’s untimely passing in 2017. Instead of publishing them, the photographer has held onto the photos until now, and is only turning them into NFTs with the permission of the late rocker’s wife, Vicky Cornell. Titled “Until We Disappear” and “White Roses for My Soul to Keep,” the two cryptographs are slated to be auctioned off tomorrow (August 5th) at 12:00 p.m. ET. “Disappear” is a moving image of Cornell against a background of clouds, while “My Soul” is a video flip-book of every frame Slavin shot of the singer during the shoot. Caroline Polachek Announces 2021 Tour Dates
Caroline Polachek is headed on the road for a 2021 tour across North America. The 22-date trek will take place from November through December. The “Heart is Unbreaking Tour” will feature emerging French producer and songwriter Oklou as an opening act. Kicking off November 16th at The Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona, the jaunt will make subsequent stops in Austin, Texas; New York City, New York; and Washington, DC. It will wrap up on December 18th at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, California. This summer, Polachek will make appearances at Governors Ball and Outside Lands.
