Rosalía provided the soundtrack for Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall-Winter 2023 Fashion Show in Paris on January 19th, during which she used a yellow lowrider for a makeshift stage as part of her performance. During her career-spanning set, Rosalía played recent hits like “SAOKO” and “DESPECHA,” both of which appear on the deluxe edition of MOTOMAMI, one of the best albums released in 2022. She also performed “DE AQUÍ NO SALES (Cap.4: Disputa)” from her breakout album, EL MAL QUERER, and threw it back to her debut full-length, Los Ángeles, with “De Plata.” In between her own songs, Rosalía spotlighted other global artists by playing Dominican rapper Angel Dior’s “A I O,” DJ Gabriel Do Borel, MC Lucy, and MC Rogê’s Brazilian funk song “Sento no Bico da Glock,” and Lebanese artist Ah...

Pooping unicorns might not be the first thing you think of when you think of Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps,” but now that a line of excremental toys play a suspiciously familiar tune, they might be a solid number two. Black Eyed Peas’ music publisher BMG Rights Management aren’t happy about that, and as Reuters reports, BMG is suing the makers of Poopsie Slime Surprise for ripping off “My Humps” with their own song, “My Poops.” Poopsie Slime Surprise comes from MGA, who are responsible for the Bratz line of dolls. According to the lawsuit, “My Poops” plays on one of the dolls when you press a button on its belly, leading both to dance moves and to a less savory movement: the toys “excrete sparkling slime.” “My Poops” can also be heard in a music video made to promote the toys, which...

The forthcoming sixth season of Cobra Kai will be its final showdown: Creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg announced in a letter to fans today that Season 6 of Netflix’s Karate Kid spinoff series would be its last. Ahead of its premiere, you get a glimpse of what’s to come in a new teaser clip. “Making Cobra Kai has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and all the amazing original cast members,” Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg wrote. “It has also enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.” The letter continues: “Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it ...
Song of the Week breaks down and talks about the song we just can’t get out of our head each week. Find these songs and more on our Spotify Top Songs playlist. For our favorite new songs from emerging artists, check out our Spotify New Sounds playlist. This week, The National help us cut through the noise with “Tropic Morning News.” January is unofficially a time to reset. Particularly in recent years, it’s become a month of new routines, setting intentions, and light reinvention — for better or for worse. While many of us are trying to embrace more healthful practices, some habits are harder to break than others: Rolling over, grabbing the phone off the bedside table, and beginning the obligatory morning doomscroll is the focus of “Tropic Morning News,” the new so...
My friends aren’t shit, but John Williams old pal Steven Spielberg is producing a whole documentary about his life. As Deadline reports, Spielberg’s Amblin Television is working on a feature film about the legendary 91-year-old composer alongside Imagine Documentaries and Nedland Media. Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Justin Wilkes, Sara Bernstein, and Meredith Kaulfers will also executive produce. Spielberg, 76, has tapped Williams to score 27 of his films, most recently The Fabelmans, which received a nomination for a Golden Globe for Best Original Score. Altogether Williams has been nominated for 52 Academy Awards and taken home five Oscars: For Fiddler on the Roof, Jaws, Star Wars, E.T. the Extraterrestrial, and Schindler’s List.&nbs...
Just days after being hospitalized due to a severe car accident, Detroit rapper Boldy James has continued to let new music flow with Indiana Jones, his new album in collaboration with producer RichGains. Stream it via Apple Music or Spotify below. Clocking in at 17 tracks, Indiana Jones heavily features Sir Michael Rocks of Chicago rap duo The Cool Kids, who appears on three tracks. Singer Jonathan Chapman, Detroit King Tape, and stuntwoman and singer Cassie Jo Craig also appear on multiple songs. Rounding out the guest list are Ann One, Chuckstaaa, Jai Imani, and Sammy Haig. RichGains previously worked on Freddie Gibbs’ 2018 album, Freddie, and his laidback, sample-based production is a good fit for Boldy’s self-assured flow and punchline-heavy rhymes. Hold on tight, possibly to your butt cheeks, because South Park is back with Season 26 on February 8th. To celebrate the return, Comedy Central has shared a teaser trailer with the words, “There’s no place like here,” and a Season 9 clip of Butters receiving an unfortunate anal probe. Will that hard-to-forget moment get a callback in the new season? The teaser doesn’t say, and considering the short turnaround times under which Trey Parker and Matt Stone work, it’s possible that they themselves don’t know, because none of Season 26 has been written yet. More outstanding questions include, how many episodes will be in Season 26? Season 25 was comprised of only six episodes, though the creators stayed busy with four Paramount+ specials: South Park: Post Covid, South Park: Post Covid...
