Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies Trailer Returns to Rydell High: Watch
“Sometimes you gotta be bad to do good,” says Marisa Davila’s Jane in the new teaser trailer for Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. With those words, the stage is set for the prequel series, which premieres on Paramount+ on April 6th. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies is set in 1954 — four years before the events of Grease. In the series, Jane teams with Nancy (played by Tricia Fukuhara), Olivia (Cheyenne Wells), and Cynthia (Ari Notartomaso) at Rydell High to form the titular Pink Ladies girl gang, and sets off a moral panic in the process. Late Night with Seth Meyers has booked a couple of high-profile drummers to sit in with the 8G Band this month. The Strokes’ Fab Moretti and Tool’s Danny Carey will bring their talents to the nighttime NBC talk show for one week each. Fans can catch Moretti starting tonight (January 9th) and running through Thursday (January 12th). The Strokes’ stickman previously filled the 8G Band drum seat for a week in 2016. Carey will jump behind the kit on January 23rd and stick around through January 26th. Like Moretti, the Tool drummer also previously performed with the 8G band in 2016. Public Image Ltd. to Compete to Represent Ireland at Eurovision 2023
Public Image Ltd. will take part in the competition to represent Ireland at the 2023 edition of Eurovision. In a new interview with Yahoo Entertainment, the actor thespian said he’s “not really down” with acting in the Star Wars films or series, explaining, “I’m a Trekkie, man.” Cage was responding to comments made by The Mandalorian‘s Pedro Pascal, his costar in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, who noted at D23 last year that he had been trying to recruit Cage to appear in the Star Wars universe. Ron Jeremy Declared Incompetent to Stand Trial for Rape Due to Severe Dementia
Ron Jeremy has been declared incompetent to stand trial after it was determined that the disgraced adult actor is suffering from severe dementia, according to the Los Angeles Times. Jeremy, 69, was indicted in 2020 on more than 30 counts of sexual assault stemming from allegations made by 20 women. If convicted, he faced more than 250 years in prison. Prior to the start of Jeremy’s trial in 2021, his defense attorney, Stuart Goldfarb, claimed that his client no longer recognized him. Mental health experts for both the prosecution and defense have since determined that Jeremy suffers from severe dementia. Nicolas Cage recently relived many of his iconic film roles in the meta action-comedy, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. One such scene saw Cage spoof the ending to Face/Off, the 1997 John Woo sci-fi action thriller co-starring John Travolta. Owen Roizman, the Academy Award-nominated cinematographer known for films such as The Exorcist, The French Connection, and Network, has died at the age of 86. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Roizman passed away on Friday, January 6th, after spending several months in hospice care. Roizman was the recipient of five Oscar nominations for films The French Connection (1971), The Exorcist (1973), Network (1976), Tootsie (1982), and Wyatt Earp (1994). In 2017, he was further recognized with an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards.
