Artist of the Month Raffaella Wants to Be as Honest as a Kid

Artist of the Month is an accolade bestowed upon an up-and-coming musician or group who is poised for the big time. For August 2022, we interview singer and songwriter Raffaella about her brand new mini album, LIVE, RAFF, LOVE (Act I). Upon entering Raffaella’s childhood home in New York City last weekend, a few things stand out to me: The walls are covered nearly inch-to-inch with both art and musical instruments, signed photographs and records decorate the hallways, and the busied look of the apartment feels quintessentially New York. Today, however, Raffaella is merely a visitor in her old abode — and she’s brought an exciting and radiant new collection of songs home with her. This Friday (August 12th), Raffaella — who is Consequence‘s August Artist of the Month — will release her ...

Calling it his dad’s “favorite song,” singer Tyler Joseph first kicked off the number with a verse and chorus of “Mulberry Street,” from the band’s latest album Scaled and Icy, before transitioning into the 1973 classic. “Hey kids, shake it loose together/ The spotlight’s hitting something/ That’s been known to change the weather/ We’ll kill the fatted calf tonight, so stick around/ You’re gonna hear electric music/ Solid walls of sound/ Say, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen her yet?/ Oh, but they’re so spaced out/ B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets,” he sang, vamping on the piano while bandmate Josh Dun commanded the drums. It’s from her upcoming album Sparkles & Debris. Stream it below. Musically, “Cosmic Dust” sees Ainsworth doing what she does best: infusing a pop song structure with futuristic flair, heavenly instrumental flourishes, and skipping from one falsetto to the next with ease. It’s breezy and anthemic, but Ainsworth manages to sneak great, intimate details into the mix despite that, like harp notes and gentle piano notes that descend one after the other. This is the third single Ainsworth has shared from Sparkles & Debris so far. It follows the retro lead s...

Billie Eilish and her father, the actor Patrick O’Connell, have announced “me & dad radio”. The new show will premiere on Apple Music this Friday, May 8th, at 3 pm EDT.
