The Age of Innocence: Here’s What These 10 DJs Looked Like Before They Were Famous

When it comes to glow-ups, many of us have the luxury of burying all evidence of our braces and bowl cuts deep in the depths of old family albums. But for the celebrities, it’s inevitable for photos from the vault to pop up now and then. So what did some of our favorite electronic artists look like before they were main stage headliners?  From childhood portraits to pre-fame head-shots, we’ve gone digging for mementos from the pasts of Alison Wonderland, Flume, RL Grime, and other dance music superstars. Complete with swooping side bangs, toothy smiles and early 2010s rave attire, they remind us that not too long ago, these artists were just like us. Let’s take a trip back in time.  Freddy Kennett of Louis The Child. Robby Hauldren of Louis the Child.

Lollapalooza Reveals 2021 Daily Lineup Schedule

Following the announcement of Lollapalooza‘s full lineup two weeks ago, organizers have released the daily schedule breakdown for the upcoming four-day event.  As in prior years, electronic artists have nabbed two of the top headlining slots. This year ILLENIUM and Marshmello will fill those roles on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Meanwhile, fans of the festival’s dedicated electronic outfit, Perry’s Stage, will have no trouble staying busy. Thursday features notable sets from Kaytranada, Steve Aoki, and Tchami while Friday belongs to the bassheads, boasting performances from Wooli, Subtronics, Riot Ten, and more. Marshmello, ILLENIUM, More Top Diversified Lollapalooza Lineup

Lollapalooza is set to turn 30 this year in stunning fashion. It’s been a whirlwind of a week for the Chicago based festival. After a surprising report suggested the City of Chicago gave Lollapalooza the green light to host their 2021 edition “at near-to or full capacity” a mere three days ago, organizers C3 Presents have now dropped a massive lineup that appears to corroborate the news. As is typically the case, Lollapalooza’s bookings span the decades and defy a bias towards any particular genre, from Foo Fighters to Journey, and Miley Cyrus to Tyler The Creator. For dance music, Marshmello and ILLENIUM find themselves near the top of the bill with the trifecta of Alison Wonderland, SLANDER, and Steve Aoki a couple lines further down. In the heart of the...

Alison Wonderland is Reviving a Musical Alias From a Decade Ago

It looks like Alison Wonderland is breathing new life into a decade-old alias. An Instagram account belonging to the alias, Whyte Fang, uploaded a cryptic image on Monday, Monday 3rd. With no caption, the mysterious image has led fans to believe that it’s the official artwork for a new single. The account, which has rarely been active since its 2016 inception, only follows nine pages, two of which are FMUOASL—Wonderland’s official merchandise store—and her manager, Garth Krane. The parallels between Alison Wonderland and Whyte Fang are crystal clear. However, her distinctive voice strikes a more punk tone in the industrial production of Whyte Fang, akin to the indie rock flair of Shiny Toy Guns vocalist Carah Faye Charnow. Listen to “Thy New Sound,” the first W...

Holy Ship! Wrecked Announces 2021 Return Featuring Alison Wonderland, ZHU, More

The 2020 debut of Holy Ship! Wrecked feels like a lifetime ago, but luckily Hard Events has their sights set on a sequel.  A year and a half ago, HARD announced they were ditching the logistical complexities of another year at sea, instead opting to bring Holy Ship! to the shoreline. Luckily for them, it was among the slim few festivals to actually take place in 2020 as it preceded the onset of the pandemic. Thousands booked a late January getway to catch all the action at the Dominican Republic’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. This December, HARD is drawing 2021 to a close with the second edition of Holy Ship! Wrecked, which will be live from the Hard Rock Riviera Maya in Mexico. Artists from all walks have signed on to take part including Alison Wo...

Alison Wonderland’s Instagram and Twitter Accounts Have Vanished

The verified Instagram and Twitter accounts belonging to electronic music superstar Alison Wonderland have vanished. When artists have a major announcement on the horizon, like a new album or tour, many opt to purge their social media of all content in order to pique the curiosity of their fans. It’s a popular marketing tactic utilized by Skrillex, Louis The Child, and Martin Garrix and Maejor’s AREA21, among countless others. However, that’s not the case here. Wonderland’s channels have not been wiped clean—they’ve been deactivated entirely. Screenshot of Alison Wonderland’s deactivated Twitter account. Here’s a List of Every Electronic Music Show at Red Rocks in 2021

While it won’t look quite the same due to a vastly reduced capacity, Red Rocks Amphitheatre is leading the charge of the return of music festival season. And while the iconic venue’s 80th anniversary summer season will operate at a limited capacity of 2,500—around 25% of its normal volume—the slash of its size had no effect on its typically jaw-dropping performance schedule. From a performance by legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd to a Kidz Bop World Tour concert, there are all kinds of shows slated for Red Rocks this year. It’s the electronic music shows, however, that stand out above the rest. ZHU, Zeds Dead, Alison Wonderland, and many more are set to return to Red Rocks this year.
