A Collaboration From Tiësto and Alison Wonderland May Be In the Works

Sometimes a simple tweet can go a long way. Just ask Alison Wonderland, who recently fired off a random tweet to Tiësto about her aspirations to collaborate with the Dutch electronic music pioneer. “I wanna make a song with Tiesto will he see this tweet,” Wonderland wrote on January 17th. It wasn’t long before Tiësto replied with an emphatic confirmation. “Let’s make it happen !!” he tweeted less than 24 hours later. Scroll to Continue Recommended Articles Mum’s the word on whether or not the duo have broken ground on the collab. But fans will likely need to hold their breath considering Tiësto is currently busy rolling out his seventh studio album, Drive, due out on February 24th. He opened up about the album back in July 2022, describin...

Premiere: Whyte Fang Cuts Through the Static With Primal Single, “Transport God”

Whyte Fang is going to keep letting her music do the talking with “Transport God,” a new single premiered exclusively today via EDM.com. A curious phrase initially obscured under a thick fog of reverb, the lyric “you could transport god” leaps suddenly into the foreground in a profound moment of clarity. As with her prior efforts, Whyte Fang takes a “less is more approach” when it comes to her vocal elements, opting to loop, glitch and iterate upon precisely defined vocal patterns. Turning them into something more closely resembling the ominous incantations that have since become her signature, Alison Wonderland’s enigmatic alias once again stuns. Her unapologetically primal approach is mirrored in the track’s production. Whomping 808s, high-...

SLANDER, Alison Wonderland and Said The Sky Share the Last Word In Massive Collab, “Picture”

SLANDER, Alison Wonderland, and Said The Sky couldn’t let 2022 close without having the last word. The trifecta of show-stopping artists arguably saved their best for last with their brand new collaboration, “Picture.” And it’s the blow-the-doors-off type of track we could have only dreamt of. Each tastemakers in their own right, the trio meet in the middle of their stylistic crossroads, yielding a densely melodic anthem with a strong future bass flair. Perhaps less surprising is the notion that “Picture” plays straight into their strengths, specifically in the rigorous building and diffusion of tension. From dainty chords and distant, celestial soundscapes to voluminous synths dripping in reverb, “Picture” rides the wave of melancholic ...

Celebrate a Decade of Brownies & Lemonade With Their Massive “10 for 10” Megamix

Celebrating a decade of groundbreaking events, Brownies & Lemonade has released a specially curated megamix. B&L tells us they asked their “most important artists over the last decade” to create 10-minute mixes. The brand then integrated each to produce “10 for 10,” a massive mix spanning over 100 tracks that defined the last decade for EDM.com’s Best Event Organizer of 2022. Beloved in the electronic dance music community for their curation of once-in-a-lifetime, creator-driven experiences—like Wonderland’s laundromat rave and Holo’s elevator pop-up—B&L soared to new heights this year. In order to meet the moment, B&L sought the help of Alison Wonderland, Louis The Child, GRiZ, Madeon, ISOxo, Jai Wolf, Wuki, What So Not, Wax Motif an...

Whyte Fang and the “Very Weird Side” of Alison Wonderland She Couldn’t Hide Anymore

Alexandra Sholler is weird. Her words—not mine. When I caught up with Sholler, whose fans know her as the superstar DJ and singer-songwriter Alison Wonderland, one word popped up more than any other: “weird.” On a radiant day in Los Angeles, we’re ironically talking about Whyte Fang, her secretive nom de plume by which she’s writing the darkest music of her career. Profound but lost, Whyte Fang has always been veiled beneath another skin. Making woozy beats that could soundtrack a fever dream out of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, she predates Alison Wonderland and she’s subconsciously influenced the chart-topping artist all these years. But she’s a completely different person. They just happen to look alike. After all, who are we if not doppelgängers of...

EDM.com proudly publishes four installments of annual year-end coverage: Industry Leaders, Performances, Music Producers and Songs.  To honor their creativity and deeply influential work to challenge the boundaries of performance, we’ve recognized 10 of the year’s best sets from around the electronic music world.  Alison Wonderland Alvarado Laundry, Los Angeles If you asked us to think of a rarer show than a rave with Alison Wonderland in a laundromat, our hands would be Tide. In celebration of her remarkable third album, Loner, the superstar DJ and singer-songwriter rinsed out a slew of filthy tracks live from a vacant L.A. laundromat. Organized by Brownies & Lemonade, the pie-in-the-sky performance was attended by less than 100 people, who raved away as strobe l...

Just a few of the artists included in the game’s extensive soundtrack include Alison Wonderland, Buku, Kaytranada, Charli XCX, Santigold, Anna Lunoe, Bicep, Run The Jewels, Mura Masa and TropKillaz. Listen to Whyte Fang’s Hypnotic Single, “Girl”

Alison Wonderland descends further into the unknown with the spellbinding “Girl,” the third single to release since she revived her Whyte Fang alias. Wonderland’s experimental side project continues to cover new ground in the realm of bass music. Her latest track is equally curious as her prior singles, as hypnotic vocal chants serve as the connective adhesive of this minimal trap banger. Much like the preceding “333,” Wonderland manipulates her vocals to create hypnotic loops, each drenched in an unpredictable concoction of delay and reverb, adding a tangibly psychedelic flare to the mix. Alison Wonderland Conjures Strength From Solitude In “Down the Line”: Watch the Music Video

Alison Wonderland‘s new single is a reminder that all dark times come to end—and we’re better for them. Released today via Astralwerks, “Down the Line” is yet another stunning electronic anthem from the Aussie superstar. The new track could’ve easily fit in Loner, her scintillating third album, which revealed the most vulnerable—and empowering—songwriting of her career. The song’s emboldening lyricism is signature Wonderland, who is at her best when writing about the resolve it takes to conjure strength amid the vicious throes of solitude. “We need the dark times in order to get to the light,” Wonderland said in a press release. “We need that experience to know that it’s going to be okay one day. The track is me acknowledging that ...

Alison Wonderland Steps Into the Dark Side With Woozy Whyte Fang Track, “333”

Alison Wonderland continues her journey into the abyss with “333,” a brand new track released under the guise of her Whyte Fang alias.  For over a decade, Wonderland has nurtured a secretive side project that explores the darker side of electronic music. Producing as Whyte Fang, she creates woozy, heavy-hitting sounds that might not necessarily fit under the Alison Wonderland umbrella.  Opening up with eerie, distorted vocals, “333” sets an ominous tone early on. After a tense, metallic build-up, Fang introduces a wobbly bass drop with saturated kicks and frenetic vocal chops. She then blasts into the realm of techno, bringing the arrangement home with a pounding four-on-the-floor section. All in all, the entire experience is delightfully di...
