Now that they find themselves fighting for their lives and looking for a way off the space station, the colonizers find themselves on the run from face-huggers and Xenomorphs who don't tend to leave any witnesses at their crime scenes.
Fede Álvarez's new standalone Alien film is in theaters on August 16th. Aliens Run Amok in a Space Station in New Teaser Trailer for Alien: Romulus: Watch Paolo Ragusa
Twenty-five years ago, 20th Century Fox released the fourth Alien film, and with it brought its once-lucrative franchise to a screeching halt. Yet, despite the fact that Alien Resurrection is maybe the worst of the four original Alien films, it’s probably the one I’ve seen the most times. I keep coming back to it, over and over, as a fascinating mismatch between writer and director that, on paper, should have been legitimately amazing. I keep wanting to understand it. Every time, I fail. But I still come away fascinated by the sheer fact of its existence. Resurrection features the fourth (and to date final) appearance of Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley, who we originally met as a humble space trucker in the first Alien, before she became one of the galaxy’s sole living experts on the terr...
The Alien saga isn’t over just yet. Fede Álvarez, the Uruguayan director of horror films like Don’t Breathe and the 2013 Evil Dead remake, is set to write and direct an original standalone Alien feature for 20th Century Studios. Ridley Scott — who directed the iconic first Alien film in 1979 and two of its successors — will produce the new project. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Álvarez, a massive fan of the franchise, pitched the idea to Scott years ago. Álvarez’s installment will be made for Hulu as part of 20th Century’s goal to put out at least 10 movies a year for the streaming service. The Alien franchise is a series of horror/sci-fi films that focus on a merciless otherworldly species called Xenomorphs, who inflict terror on humans by placing ...
Ridley Scott had a surprise for fans during an interview with the BBC on Monday (November 22nd), revealing his beloved sci-fi classic Blade Runner is currently being adapted as a TV show. While he was on the topic, the director also gave an update on a previously announced Alien series. “We’re already into having written the pilot for Blade Runner and the bible. So, we’re already presenting Blade Runner as a TV show, which will probably be the first 10 hours,” Scott said on BBC’s Today radio program. Watch clips from the interview below the jump. In screenwriting terms, a bible is a document containing the details of the history of a series. Scott hasn’t discussed a live-action show based on the movie before, although an anime titled Blade Runner: Black Lotus debuted on Adult Swi...

Ian Holm, iconic British actor who starred in Alien, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Chariots of Fire, and countless other productions, has died of Parkinson’s disease. He was 88. His agent confirmed the news Friday morning (June 19th) in a statement to The Guardian: “It is with great sadness that the actor Sir Ian Holm CBE passed away this morning at the age of 88.
