Unsurprisingly, it’s ...

Everyone loves a two-parter, which is why actor-musician Caleb Landry Jones has announced Gadzooks Vol. 2, the appropriately titled follow up to 2021’s Gadzooks Vol. 1. The album is out November 4th via Sacred Bones, while first single “Touchdown Yolk” is available to stream now. Jones recorded Gadzooks Vol. 2 with Nic Jodoin and Drew Erickson at Los Angeles’ Valentine Recording Studios, the birthplace of records by The Beach Boys and Frank Zappa. Based on the opaque poem the artist shared in announcing the album, it appears those legends of psychedelia came through during the recording process. “I’m aware of only half the picture,” Jones writes. “It comes down upon me like a heavy rain. The psycho Deli is out of mustard and all the Porn Stars won’t leave their homes. I...

NOFX have today announced what will presumably be their final record as a band: Double Album, the aptly-titled counterpart to February’s Single Album, is out on December 2nd via Fat Wreck Chords. Until then, you can listen to the punk band’s new single “Darby Crashing Your Party.” Inspired by his long-running goal to put out his own analogue to Off the Wall or The White Album, NOFX vocalist Fat Mike describes Double Album as “very enjoyable” and “maybe [their] funniest” release. Complete with unfiltered songs about cocky booking agents, a dominatrix, using the bathroom, and Stephen Hawking, Double Album is a perfect way to cap off NOFX’s discography — should they follow through with their plan to break up in 2023. “You have to laugh at everything because the world ...

But one thing led to another, and like a snowball effect of dub-influenced-indie rock the musicians found themselves with a track-by-track remix on their hands. “I got into the melody and the thoughts it evoked in me,” Sherwood explains in a press release. “It just evolved and we eventually found ourselves with a whole album.” Advertisement Related Video The producer takes “On the Radio” from a ...
