The Daily Show Announces Guest Hosts, Including Hasan Minhaj, Al Franken, and Chelsea Handler

The Daily Show will feature a number of guest hosts at the anchor desk following Trevor Noah’s departure at the end of the week. Hasan Minhaj, Al Franken, Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman, Kal Penn, and Leslie Jones will each take a turn anchoring The Daily Show when new episodes air starting on January 17th. Other guest hosts include John Leguizamo, Wanda Sykes, Marlon Wayans, and D.L. Hughley, with several more hosts still to be announced in the weeks ahead. Current Daily Show correspondents like Jordan Klepper, Roy Wood Jr., and Ronny Chieng are also expected to get an opportunity to host the show in what could prove to be a possible audition to replace Noah. As promised, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross reunited on Wednesday night for the Mr. Show Zoomtacular Annual Business Call Event for Charity. In addition to raising funds and eliciting some good ol’ fashioned yucks, the two strung together what has to be the most star-studded rendition of “Weird Al” Yankovic’s Michael Jackson parody “Eat It”. Joining the two co-stars in the unexpected sing-along were Bryan Cranston, Sarah Silverman, a very bearded Jack Black, Patton Oswalt, Fred Armisen, Al Franken, Paul Scheer, Heidi Gardner, Rachel Bloom, Alison Pill, Amber Tamblyn, John Hodgman, Tony Hale, and Odenkirk’s Better Call Saul co-stars in Rhea Seehorn, Michael McKean, and Michael Mando. Jerry Stiller, legendary actor and comic of Seinfeld and The King of Queens, passed away on Monday morning. In the wake of his passing at the age of 92, countless co-stars and fellow colleagues offered their thoughts and condolences. His son, Ben, broke the news this morning on Twitter: “I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed.
