Chico Rose takes the lead in “Alone Again,” a dark and sultry dance record produced alongside Dutch compatriot Afrojack. The frequent collaborators have returned to Spinnin’ Records to release the new track, a spellbinding pop-house hybrid. This time around, Rose and Afrojack joined forces with Canadian singer-songwriter Mougleta, whose stunning vocal performance hypnotizes and haunts the senses. A stark contrast to 2019’s peak-time progressive anthem “Never Sleeps,” the woozy collab finds the duo trading soaring sound design for hypnotic bass. The track would be a seductive, come-hither banger if not for Mougleta, who unapologetically warbles about rejecting an old flame. If there was a song equivalent to leaving a desperate ex read, this is it. Take a ...
Nicky Romero and Afrojack are resetting the clock with their first original collaborative track. Last week, the landmark 10th edition of Amsterdam’s AMF Music Festival saw performances from a myriad of dance music icons, including the two progressive house titans, who didn’t hesitate to hit rewind. Opening up their explosive B2B set, the two evoked immediate feelings of nostalgia and whisked the audience down memory lane with an unreleased record tailor-made for the golden era of big room. The festival-ready smash, “Back To Where We Started,” harkens back to influences shaping some of the artists’ earliest hit records. For that reason, it’s no wonder the energizing four-to-the-floor kicks and stadium-filling lead synth animated...

What a moment for Afrojack and DubVision. Over the weekend, they experienced the full-tilt rapture of racing’s highest level, joining forces for the official theme song of the 2022 Formula One Dutch Grand Prix, “Feels Like Home.” Prior to the start of the race, the Dutch dance music stars performed their uplifting anthem live on the grid for tens of thousands of fans. “We have been polishing the track together with Afrojack, to make sure that the energy matches the excitement that comes with Formula 1 and the races,” said DubVision in a joint statement prior to the performance. When the dust cleared, it was Dutch compatriot Max Verstappen who came out on top, crossing the the finish line to continue his dominance of the 2022 Formula One season. The f...
Afrojack has teamed up with Black V Neck for “Day N Night,” a late-summer house anthem. With its chugging, four-on-the-floor rhythm and disco influences, “Day N Night” is a beautiful nod to the underground. The anthemic tech house track features Muni Long, a Platinum-certified R&B singer-songwriter whose smooth topline glimmers atop a sun-kissed arrangement. The warm and sultry track is bit of a departure for Afrojack, whose most recent release, a seven-track EP released under his NLW alias, roars with his signature “Dirty Dutch” sound. It seems he’s been inspired by the work of Black V Neck, a surging duo with a distinct, steamy sound redefining Miami’s house music scene. “Day N Night” arrives in the wake ...

“If Guetta makes it, then it’s a hit,” promises DOECHII on “Trampoline,” the newest collaboration from iconic beatsmiths David Guetta and Afrojack. If the success of their last single, “Hero,” is any indication—it’s currently nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 2022 Grammy Awards—then DOECHII is right on target. Featuring vocals from Missy Elliott and BIA, the hip-hop-infused “Trampoline” is out now via Parametric Records and Artist Partner Group. “Bounce that shit. Make it go,” its lyrics urge, backed by a minimalistic bass line and zingy synths. You can practically envision Elliott, BIA and DOECHII in the studio putting this one together, strutting around with the boss energy that their c...
Steve Aoki and Afrojack‘s “No Beef” became a gateway to discovering dance music for a new generation of listeners. Now, 11 years following its release, Aoki is rekindling the magic through a fresh perspective. In 2011, the frenetic tune with vocals from Miss Palmer was an instant attention-grabber given the intersection of Aoki’s electro house characteristics and Afrojack’s influence within the stylistically adjacent Dutch house movement. Never one to tie himself to any given genre, Aoki didn’t hesitate to tweak the winning formula over a decade later. With his new remix, he shakes up the drum arrangement with the kicks, snares, and percussion more consistent with the tech house arrangements dominating the airwaves today. At heart, however, the new versi...
