Afenifere: Nigeria becoming ungovernable

Pan-Yoruba sociocultural group, Afenifere, on Thursday declared that Nigeria is on the brink of collapse, insisting that the country must restructure to survive the near precipice. “The truth is that the country has virtually become ungovernable and unless we restructure and restore Nigeria to federalism, the country is on the brink of collapse and God should save us from the worst case scenario,” Afenifere said. #EndSARS: MURIC kicks amid allegation of mosque burning in South East

The Muslim Rights Concern has raised the alarm over the alleged burning of mosques in the South East following the #EndSARS protest. The Islamic human rights body, which raised the alarm in a statement on Monday, said the mosques were burnt on October 31, 2020, with threat to invade the Islamic School, Afikpo, Ebonyi State. The statement said the mosques were burnt in Enugu, Enugu State amid reports that 11 Muslims were killed during the #EndSARS protests in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and Orlu in Imo State, while the Orlu Central Mosque was completely destroyed about two weeks ago. Afenifere disowns, condemns quit notice to Igbo people

The Pan Yoruba sociopolitical group, Afenifere, on Saturday distanced and disowned itself from the ultimatum some Nigerian national, especially the Inbox to vacate the southern region within the next 48 hours. The group who stated this in a statement issued by the leader of the group, Pa Reuben Fasoranti and signed by the General Secretary of the group, Chief Sehinde Arogbofa, said such directive does not emanate from the group. Afenifere: Pa Fasanmi lived a fulfilled life

Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, says the late Pa Ayo Fasanmi who died on Wednesday at the age of 94 lived a life of fulfillment. The Spokesman for Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, said this in a telephone interview with newsmen on Thursday. He said, “He lived a long life of fulfillment and we pray his soul rests in perfect peace.” Odumakin said the group would send in a tribute to the late Yoruba leader later.
