Adele’s 9 Funniest One-Liners & Banter at Las Vegas Residency Opening Night

It’s no secret that Adele has one of the most respected voices in music and can write a heartbreaking ballad with the best of them. But what music fans only aware of her chart-topping hits from the radio might not know is just how hysterical she is. At opening night of her new Weekends With Adele residency in Las Vegas, there were countless moments of Adele’s brilliantly bawdy sense of humor, with the F-bombs flying freely as she briskly bantered with the crowd between songs in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. In Billboard’s seven best moments from the show, we highlighted one such moment when she hilariously focused on her love for a certain AMC show. “I’ve got a lot to tell you. It’s a bloody massive week for me, this week,” she said. “It’s the Walking Dead finale on Sunday! Do we have a...

The beloved British singer/songwriter addressed the cancellation toward the end of the two-hour-plus concert, calling it “the worst feeling I’ve ever had but the best decision I’ve ever made.” It’s hard to argue with her after seeing all the massive technical flourishes and tiny thoughtful touches that color the 20-song set. Adele Talks Canceled Vegas Residency: ‘There Was Just No Soul in It’

Adele has spoken in detail for the first time about the circumstances behind the January cancellation of her planned residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which will finally resume on Nov. 18. In an interview with Elle, the British vocalist admits “there was just no soul in” the show. “The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.” Many of the issues apparently stemmed from the Colosseum’s enormous, 15,7000-square foot stage. In the interview, Adele discusses sitting down and singing off-mic during the final dress rehearsal before the cancellation, an impromptu move that made her realize what was missing from the production. “They c...

But could Adele have actually announced her engagement on the 2022 BRIT Awards red carpet? The “Easy on Me” singer paired her glamorous, plunging black gown with an enormous, hard-t...

Staff Picks: The Albums and Songs We Loved in 2021

The late, great Lester Bangs once wrote that we will never again agree on anything as we agreed on Elvis. And he was basically right until Lil Nas X came sliding down the stripper-pole to Hell. Oh, 2021. You rocked us like a damn sociopath. What an insanely exciting, emotional, and reinvigorating year for music. President Biden took office and made Olivia Rodrigo an ambassador. We had Hot Vax Summer and Sad Girl Fall (Taylor’s Version.) Live music came back and Dave Grohl never left. Noobs ruled songwriting. Doja Cat ruled the planet. We brought back the electric guitar (all the rumors are true, baby), 2000s pop-punk, and Adele. We freed Britney. Halsey freed the nipple. And we all somehow found out about a Baltimore rock quintet called Turnstile. It’s all in SPIN‘s lists for Best Songs of...
