Some arrived by limo, others by private jet. But for this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, passenger seats and business casual attire were subbed out for saddles and spandex by a group of music professionals who biked more than 300 miles to the world’s largest electronic music conference.  Now in its sixth iteration, the epic four-day trek raised more than $36,000 for the non-profit organization Bridges for Music this year. Based in South Africa, the program provides underserved and at-risk youths with holistic creative education and music industry courses. Record-Breaking Amsterdam Dance Event Draws In 450,000 Attendees

The dust has just begun to settle on Amsterdam Dance Event 2022, and its numbers confirm a record-breaking year.  The five-day assembly of conferences, performances, panels and more brought out over 450,000 attendees, who hailed from 146 different countries. 2022 marked a full return for the event following a series of pandemic-related cancellations. Last year’s partial return to action saw ADE’s Pro programming cancelled due to uncertainty surrounding the Dutch government’s restrictions. Innovative Music Tech Companies Receive €100K After Winning ADE Startup Competition

Last Spring, the Amsterdam Dance Event and venture capital firm Antler asked the industry for their forward-thinking ideas in music tech. This week, two winning concepts were crowned, with each receiving six figures of investment. The ADE & Antler Startup Competition received more than 100 entries, but after a rigorous interview and pitch process, the pool was ultimately narrowed to just a handful of finalists who made their final pitch at Felix Meritis during ADE. Bicycles can be vehicles for change when the right people are the engines powering them. That virtue isn’t lost on avid cyclist Jamie Kemp, whose journey to this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event will be a byproduct of sweat and stamina. European fans will have just one more chance to see Eric Prydz‘s stupefying HOLO show in 2022. Despite world-class stage design and hundreds of the biggest artists in electronic dance music to see live, there was one performance at this year’s Tomorrowland festival that everyone simply could not stop talking about.
