AC Milan are scheduled to host Inter in Sunday’s eagerly anticipated Serie A clash at San Siro. The game will be the 178th league meeting between the sides and it is the first time in a decade that the Milan giants are occupying the top two positions ahead of the derby. The Rossoneri recently suffered their second defeat in four league games after a surprise 1-0 loss at Spezia. The result saw them relinquish their top position to the Nerazzurri for the first time since October last year. The Nerazzurri are one point ahead of their fierce rivals following a three-match winning streak and the upcoming derby will be crucial for both teams. While Inter have the chance to extend the slender gap at the top, Milan will be aiming to reclaim the first spot. Key Stats: Milan and Inter have already f...
The Europa League is back with a bang on Thursday as the round of 32 gets underway. Eight clubs have dropped into the competition from the Champions League, joining the 24 who safely navigated through the group phase. Manchester United and Ajax are the biggest names to enter the Europa League at this stage, and both will fancy their chances of making progress. However, with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Leicester City, AC Milan and Napoli amongst a strong line-up, winning the Europa League will not be easy. All four Premier League clubs are on the road for their first leg matches, with Arsenal facing the toughest test against Benfica. The Gunners have been boosted by Kieran Tierney’s return to training, but the defender is unlikely to be included in the starting XI. Spurs will be without Joe...

SL View Kessie has emerged as a key figure under Milan boss Stefano Pioli, earning the nickname ‘The President’ due to his influence on the dressing room. However, his current contract expires in June 2022 and he is yet to agree a new deal with the club. Milan slapped a £45 million asking price on Kessie during December in a bid to ward off potential suitors and they will be keen to retain his services. While Chelsea may find it difficult to prise Kessie away from ...
It’s been a rather quiet January transfer window. Previous years have seen the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Virgil van Dijk make big money moves, but nothing of that magnitude happened this time around. Nonetheless, while there wasn’t a headline-making move, there were still some exciting deals being made. Here’s a look at the best signings of the 2021 January transfer window. Mesut Ozil (Arsenal to Fenerbahce, free transfer) Ozil in his first training session at Fenerbahce Once one of the world’s best playmakers, Mesut Ozil’s time at the Emirates had gone sour, having been left out of Mikel Arteta’s 25-man squad back in October. Sitting on a contract estimated to be worth £350k-a-week, the World Cup winner couldn’t be left to sit in the reserves much longer. Along came Fenerbahce, who off...
AC Milan are looking at the prospect of signing Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot on a permanent deal this summer, The Sun reports. The versatile full-back joined the Rossoneri on a season-long loan last summer and he has turned out 17 times for the club in all competitions. He has been a regular starter in Europe, but when it comes to the Serie A games he has largely acted as the deputy to Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez. The Serie A giants have been impressed with the displays of the Portuguese and The Sun claims that they are hoping to sign him permanently at the end of the season. Dalot is also keen on staying with the Rossoneri and he is open to extending his temporary deal or signing a long-term contract with the Milan side. SportLens view: Dalot has not started regularly for the Ro...
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has denied all allegations of using racist abuse during his on-field clash with Romelu Lukaku in the Coppa Italia match between Inter and AC Milan on Tuesday evening. The attackers squared up to each other at half-time, trading verbal blows and ultimately being cautioned by referee Paolo Valeri. Lukaku came out on top in the end, scoring the equaliser in a 2-1 win for the Nerazzurri, while Ibrahimovic was shown a second yellow in the second half and was given his marching orders. The dust has far from settled in the wake of the spat, however, as pitch-side microphones picked up the heated conversation between Lukaku and Ibrahimovic, with the latter reportedly calling the former a “donkey” and telling him to go do his “voodoo sh*t”, among other things. The voodoo referenc...
Chelsea F.C. have come to an agreement with AC Milan to loan out Fikayo Tomori with the option to buy him after the loan period. Tomori is a 23-year-old English defender who joined Chelsea’s academy at the age of eight. During his time with Chelsea’s senior team, he has been loaned out to Brighton & Hove Albion, Hull City, and Derby County. Tomori makes this loan move to Milan due to the lack of playing time having played only four matches this season. One of those matches was in the Premier League, in which he came off the bench against Liverpool back in September. Tomori will join Milan on a six-month loan deal until the end of the 2020/2021 season. At the end of the loan, Milan will have the option to buy him for £25 million, which suggests Chelsea are open to selling the playe...
Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori set to join AC Milan on loan According to the reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is all set to join Italian giants AC Milan on loan. The Serie A giants were keen on securing the 23-year-old if they failed to land Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan. The 20-year-old is also on Chelsea’s radar. With RB Leipzig also now pursuing Simakan, competition for his signature has gotten tougher. Milan, meanwhile, appear to have settled for Tomori. The defender has found opportunities difficult to come by at Chelsea. So far he has made just four appearances and is the club’s fifth choice centre-back. He will now spend the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign at the San Siro. The Rossoneri are currently top of Serie A as they chase...
AC Milan are aiming to secure the loan signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea with a buy option in the next few days, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano reports. The England international has hardly played for the west London giants this term and he has made only four appearances in all competitions. Blues boss Frank Lampard recently said that Tomori could be loaned out and the Rossoneri are currently the leading candidates to sign him. However, the Serie A leaders want to keep hold of Tomori for the long-term and they are hopeful of negotiating a buy option for the centre-back worth €30 million. The Blues are yet to give the go-ahead for the proposed deal, but Romano reports that the 23-year-old is prioritising a move to Stefano Pioli’s side. SL view: Tomori had a bright breakthrough ...
