Ableton’s Mobile App, Note, Has Arrived

Digital audio workstation Ableton has launched Note, a brand new mobile application on iOS. It’s available now for $5.99. According to Ableton’s website, “Note is a place to start ideas, experiment with sounds, and find direction. As part of your regular music-making routine, it can help you hone the skill of starting or ease into a creative headspace at the start of a session.” Note comes built-in with drum kits, melodic instruments and a variety of synths, but users are also able to record their own sounds in to craft their own library. While it’s significantly cheaper than the desktop version of Ableton, it’s also not a replacement. Black Artist Database and Ableton Offer Series of Free Masterclasses for Black Music Producers

Black Artist Database is teaming up with Ableton to offer up to 1,200 Black artists a free music production masterclass. Black Artist Database, a crowdfunded platform dedicated to supporting Black artists, labels, and music producers, previously offered free courses in partnership with the popular digital audio workstation company in October 2021.  The volunteer-powered organization has scaled to provide coverage across four continents in rapid fashion. Ableton Launches Live 11.1 Update Beta

The team behind the popular digital audio workstation Ableton always seems to be making improvements to its software, and now the Live 11.1 update has been launched in public beta to make the program even more user-friendly. The new update sees a myriad of features added to streamline the music production process within Ableton, including native support for Apple brand computers running on the recently introduced M1 Silicon chip. Ableton 11 Live’s Demo Track Was Created by Rising Star Ninajirachi

Producers were delighted when Ableton 11 Live, the latest incarnation of the Ableton digital audio workstation software, dropped on Tuesday. Ableton Announces the Release Date for Live 11

Producers can finally start the countdown to the release of Ableton Live 11. Announced last fall was the next iteration of one of the world’s most popular digital audio workstations. Since then, producers have been anxiously awaiting the release of the upgraded software. While the release date was not known at the time of the announcement, developers have now confirmed that the new workstation will hit the market later this month. Pathwaves Music Production Camp for Women and Nonbinary Artists Slated for November

Placing a much-needed spotlight on marginalized identities in the music industry, a Berlin-based music program called Pathwaves is offering a production camp this November for women and nonbinary folks. Sponsored by Ableton and APRA AMCOS, an Australia-based music rights organization, the program will take place November 2nd to 6th, with some events streamed for attendees located outside of Berlin.  Acceptance into the program will occur via an application process closing October 5th. Ableton Scraps 2021 Loop Summit Due to “Unmanageable Doubt” Casted by COVID-19

Music festivals aren’t the only major events to feel the wrath of COVID-19 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Venerated German music software company Ableton, the developer of the most ubiquitous digital audio workstation on the planet, has cashed in its chips and cancelled its in-person 2021 Loop Summit, citing fears of COVID-19. “We have taken the difficult decision to cancel the Loop Summit in 2021,” Ableton said in a statement. “It is increasingly clear that we cannot guarantee the level of health and safety that our event demands.
