Kano governor: Why I gave women more political appointments

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano says he has compensated APC women by giving them more political opportunities in the state than they aspired. The governor also pledged to support more women aspiring for political offices in 2023, saying that more women are needed in the mainstream political sphere. Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said about four million people have so far registered as members of the All Progressives Congress in the ongoing membership registration /re-validation exercise in the State. Amnesty International condemns Salihu Yakasai’s arrest

Global rights group, Amnesty International, has condemned the arrest of Salihu Tanko Yakasai, who was arrested hours after criticising President Muhammadu Buhari, over the rise in school kidnappings. Kano governor orders compulsory drug test for council election contestants

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has directed all cleared contestants in the forthcoming local government elections scheduled to hold January 16 to be subjected to a compulsory drug test. The state commissioner for information, Muhammad Garba, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing journalists on the outcome of the state Executive Council Meeting held at the Government House, Kano.
