A few months ago, members of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden formed a new group called 3rd Secret and out of seemingly nowhere, dropped a new album. The secrets keep coming as Krist Novoselic, Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron-led vehicle shared a new video for “Rhythm of the Ride.” The song was recorded by Erik Friend and mixed by longtime Seattle producer Jack Endino. In the video for the first song off of the album, Novoselic can be seen playing acoustic guitar with the group’s two vocalists, Jillian Raye and Jennifer Johnson. Seattle grunge supergroup 3rd Secret has had a busy last few weeks. Before releasing their self-titled album last week, the group (comprised of legendary musicians Bubba Dupree, Matt Cameron, Krist Novoselic, Jennifer Johnson, Kim Thayil and Jillian Raye) recorded a performance of their song “I Choose Me” at The Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle. Surprise! A few months ago Krist Novoselic shared that he was working on some new music with a bunch of familiar faces. Matt Cameron also teased that he and Novoselic were up to something in the studio. Well, today, we learned what exactly he and his pals were up to: 3rd Secret. Novoselic, along with pals Bubba Dupree, Cameron, Jennifer Johnson, Kim Thayil and singer Jillian Raye have joined forces for the new project.
