III Points Festival 2022: LCD Soundsystem and Flume Join Rosalía as Headliners
III Points Music Festival will be returning to Miami’s Mana Wynwood from October 21st to 22nd, and now its previously announced 2022 headliner Rosalía will officially be joined at the top of the line by Flume, LCD Soundsystem, and more. The two-day multimedia event is hosting one of its biggest lineups yet with over 150 artists across its typical six-stage setup as well as visual arts installations and on-site experiences. As usual, the festival blurs the line between genres with acts like James Blake, Black Coffee, Porter Robinson, Orbital, Joji, Chris Lake, Freddie Gibbs, Kenny Beats, Pink Siifu, Shygirl, and Fisher all making appearances. Rocklahoma Festival 2022 Lineup: Korn, Shinedown, FFDP, Evanescence, Megadeth, and More
The lineup for the 2022 Rocklahoma festival has been announced, and features Korn, Shinedown and Five Finger Death Punch as headliners. The three-day fest takes place September 2nd-4th in Pryor, Oklahoma, and also boasts such acts as Evanescence, Megadeth, Cypress Hill, and more. For most of its run, Rocklahoma took place in May, but last year moved to Labor Day weekend as events shifted around due to the pandemic. For its 15th incarnation this year, it’s sticking to September, calling itself “America’s biggest Labor Day Weekend Party.” Weekend passes go on sale this Friday (June 10) via the festival’s website at discounted Phase 1 pricing. Hall & Oates, Wilco, The Lumineers, and Brandi Carlile will play the inaugural BeachLife Ranch Country & Americana Festival this September. The three-day event goes down September 16th-18th, 2022 at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach, California. 2022 Welcome to Rockville Festival Taps Nine Inch Nails to Replace Foo Fighters as Sunday Headliner
Following the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters canceled all of their scheduled 2022 tour dates. One of those dates was a headlining gig at the upcoming Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. Today (April 6th), organizers announced that Nine Inch Nails will replace Foo Fighters on the Sunday (May 22nd) lineup of the four-day fest. It’s the second such announcement of the day, as Boston Calling revealed this morning that NIN would be filling in for Foo Fighters on the first night (May 27th) of its three-day lineup. You know how it goes: As the festival lineup print gets smaller, the artists tend to be lesser known. But there’s one act toward the bottom of the Lollapalooza 2022 lineup poster who’s actually pretty famous: David Solomon, CEO of Goldman Sachs. The leader of the investment bank is set to perform a DJ set at the Chicago festival this July. Solomon, who’s served as Goldman Sachs’ chief executive officer since 2018, has dabbled in DJing for a while now. “[I] kind of stumbled into it as a hobby, and now I just do it for fun,” he said in a 2017 Goldman Sachs podcast. Solomon tends to spin records at a couple of elite events a year, with the profits going to charity.
