Like many bands that have been off the road for the past year and a half due to the pandemic, Rival Sons are more than ready to get back on tour. The California rockers have booked a fall North American run in honor of the 10th anniversary of their 2011 album, Pressure and Time. The outing, dubbed the “Pressure and Time Tour,” will feature support from by Dorothy on most dates, with Reignwolf and Myron Elkins at select gigs. The tour kicks off September 29th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and continues through a November 13th date in Anaheim, California. Pressure and Time scored Rival Sons airplay with the title track, as well as the singles “Soul” and “All Over the Road.” Expect to hear the full album from front to back, as well as other favorites from the band’s discography. Next month, Frightened Rabbit will reissue The Winter of Mixed Drinks in honor of its 10th anniversary. The vinyl-only release will consist of a 12-inch containing the group’s original third album and a 7-inch featuring two live versions of songs from the LP. The first, “The Wrestle”, was taken from a 2010 concert at Cleveland’s Grog Shop. Meanwhile, “Things” was recorded at The Roundhouse in London in 2016. It’s been 10 long years since The Hold Steady released their fifth studio album, Heaven Is Whenever. To mark the anniversary, the band will reissue an expanded deluxe edition of the LP featuring previously unreleased songs, demos, and alternate takes. Due out November 27th via Vagrant Records, the double-album reissue consists of a newly remastered version of Heaven Is Whenever, along with nine (!) bonus tracks. Some of these unearthed songs are called “Ascension Blues”, “Touchless”, “Beer on the Bedstand”, and “Wonderful Struggle”. There’s also an alternate take on “We Can Get Together”.
