It’s that time of year again: the weather is getting colder, festival season is coming to a close and 1001Tracklists, the world’s leading DJ tracklist database, has released their annual rankings. The brand’s Top Producers of 2022 list ranks artists whose music amassed the most DJ support from October 1st, 2021 to September 20th, 2022. The state of live entertainment was torn between two worlds throughout 2021. Nations across the globe tackled the difficult challenge of bringing back some semblance of normalcy while preserving public health and safety of their people.   As the pandemic continued, many began to wonder if the demand for live music would even exist in the same capacity on the other side of it. Vintage Culture, David Guetta, Kryder Top 1001Tracklists’ “Top 101 Producers” List for 2021

Brazilian DJ and dance music producer Vintage Culture has taken the #1 spot in 1001Tracklists’ “Top 101 Producers” list for 2021. David Guetta, Kryder, Armin van Buuren, and John Summit follow. This year’s list contains artists from 27 different countries. The United Kingdom and Netherlands total nearly 40% of the artists represented. 33 artists made their first appearance and eight have re-entered. AVIRA, Armand van Helden, KC Lights, and MARTEN HØRGER were the producers that saw the biggest rise within the list. 1001Tracklists Guetta championed this list back in 2019 for his pioneering future rave sound. 1001Tracklists‘ 2021 “A State of Dance Music” report showed that despite a year of limited show opportunities—and even fewer in-person festivals—the dance music scene remained resilient.  The annual report shared arguably the most impressive statistic right out the gate. “In 2020, there were more sets and mixes added to 1001Tracklists than ever before, up a remarkable 30% from last year,” the report states. Of the total 53,000 sets added, 11,000 were live shows. It’s that time of the year again—1001Tracklists have calculated the numbers and revealed their annual “Top 101 Producers” list. The world’s largest DJ setlist database compiled a list that features representations from 21 countries across this year’s rankings. Leading the pack is Heldeep Records label head Oliver Heldens. The Dutch producer moves up from #24 to the #1 spot this year thanks to an impressive run of diverse releases both under his own name and under his HI-LO alias. 1001Tracklists today announced the final 1001Tracklists Virtual Festival, which will kick off next Thursday, June 25th, and conclude on Saturday, June 27th. The series began back in April around the beginning of the stay-at-home ordinances instated due to COVID-19, with the mission to bring the rave into your living room. Along with the announcement came the unveiling of the fest’s massive lineup, which features electro house kingpin Bingo Players, iconic producer and Mixmash boss Laidback Luke, Hexagon wunderkind RetroVision, Dutch young gun Sophie Francis, and Norwegian trance heavyweight Ørjan Nilsen, among many others.
