SZA dropped three new songs — “Joni,” “Nightbird” and “I Hate U” — through an anonymous Soundcloud account over the summer.
Today, she returned to share “I Hate U” for streaming everywhere. In the months following the single’s unofficial release in August, it had become a viral hit on TikTok.
“And if you wondered if I hate you, I do,” SZA sings on the track.
In the beginning of 2021, the artist said that fans could expect her sophomore LP before the end of 2021.
Her debut studio album, Ctrl, was released in 2017, making it four years since SZA’s released a complete project. Last month, she made an appearance on Summer Walker’s Still Over It on the song “No Love.”
Listen to SZA’s “I Hate U” on all streaming services now.
In other music news, Doja Cat dropped an enchanting visual for “Woman.”
