Capcom has officially introduced a new kickboxing character named Luke to the Street Fighter V universe.
While only very limited information is shared regarding Luke, Street Fighter V‘s director Takayuki Nakayama confirms that the character will provide a “glimpse into the future” for the franchise. It appears that Luke will play a titular role in the upcoming games, but the extent to which he will be featured in the storylines still remains a mystery to the public.
2016 saw the initial release of Street Fighter V and included many of the series mainstays including, Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy and Dhalsim. The game has added memorable newcomers including Rashid, an Arab socialite with high combat abilities and a slew of high-tech gadgets, and F.A.N.G., a poison-wielding disciple of M. Bison. Street Fighter V also features Dan Hibiki, Rose, and Akira Kazama.
Street Fighter V has seen great improvements since its rough launch. Capcom has recently applied its resources to high-quality production and lucrative tournaments worldwide. The tournaments have allowed fans to turn simple players into professional competitors. Luke’s reveal hints that the Street Fighter V saga is coming closer to an end. Fans will be able to know more about Luke this coming November
