Steve Lacy has confirmed that his sophomore studio album is officially on the way.
The 23-year-old artist took to Instagram to share a photo of him in the studio with a simple caption that read, “album on the way [soon] tap in.” The news was greeted with excitement but other artists, including fellow The Internet member Syd, DJ Calvin Harris, BROCKHAMPTON‘s Kevin Abstract, Kali Uchis and more.
Lacy’s last full-length release dates back to 2019’s Apollo XXI, which was released just in time for his 21st birthday. The 12-track record featured one guest appearance from Daisy on “Like Me,” was well-received by both fans and critics alike and earned Lacy a GRAMMY nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album — his first solo nod. Apollo XXI was followed by the 2020 compilation The Lo-Fis, which featured demos he created in high school.
Stay tuned for more info on Steve Lacy’s upcoming album.
