Stephen “tWitch” Boss, ‘The Ellen Show’ DJ Has Died at the Age of 40

Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the globally adored DJ for The Ellen Degeneres Show has died at the age of 40. His wife Allison Holker Boss has confirmed the news to outlets with a statement,

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.

Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.

To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.

Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

Boss, who rose to fame on the dance reality show, So You Think You Can Dance was a prominent figure in the Hollywood dance industry. He also appeared in a supporting role in Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike. The LA County Medical Examiner has ruled the dancer’s death to be a suicide. TMZ reported that around 11:15 a.m. today, paramedics received a call for a medical emergency at a Los Angeles hotel, where they found Boss dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

tWitch joined The Ellen Show in 2014 and has been with her until the end of her show in May 2022. In 2020, he became the executive producer of the show. In the industry, he has often been known as the happy, go-lucky entertainer that warms the room with his smile. tWitch and his wife Allison celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary just days ago. He is survived by his wife and three children, Weslie, Maddox and Zaia.
