Stephen Amell is getting ready to suit up for a highly-anticipated spin-off set by NBC. Earlier this month, NBCUniversal announced that a Suits spinoff titled Suits: LA is in the works with production beginning as early as March. Now, more news arrives from the upcoming series, pinpointing who will lead the show.
Amell is slated to play the character Ted Black who is “a charismatic force of nature who puts his own needs above others.” Production is set to begin in March in Vancouver for the new drama, created by the original Suits creator Aaron Korsch. The series will follow a new group, led by Amell’s character, who is a former New York prosecutor who moved to LA to build a new law firm that specializes in criminal and entertainment law. The original cast originally starred Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty. It is uncertain if the members of the old cast will make a cameo in the new series.
As per the official series logline, it states, “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.” Stay tuned for more information.
