Staff Picks: March 15th – 21st 2025

Bnny (feat. Wild Pink) — “Good Stuff”

Fresh off announcing the deluxe edition of One Million and Three Love Songs, Bnny, the Chicago band fronted by Jessica Viscius, has teamed up with Fire Talk labelmate Wild Pink for a reimagined version of standout track “Good Stuff.” The approach remains the same: a dreamy song that builds and blooms over time. But while the original version felt cleaner guitar-wise, Wild Pink’s John Ross’ grungy overdubs add a new texture here. This version stretches longer, featuring a new third verse where Viscius and Ross trade lines in a call-and-response before joining together for the final chorus, giving the song more emotional weight. — Aureliano Petrucci

caroline — “Total euphoria”

London post-rock/experimental indie outfit caroline are back with a new tune for the first time since 2022. With scattershot rhythms and heaps of room tone, the track picks up where the group left off, dipping into winding, explorative sonic territory while remaining approachable and deeply earnest. Then, the emotional vocal performances, layered melodies, and climactic ending help it fully earn the title of “Total Euphoria.”  In short, it’s breathtaking. — Jonah Krueger

DARUMAS — “Puerta Abierta”

Latin funk trio DARUMAS extend another effortless invitation to the dance floor with their latest release, “Puerta Abierta,” a flirty disco number and the latest in a string of bright, punchy singles. Following their 2024 debut LP, the band is gearing up for another exciting year; they’re appearing at Lollapalooza Argentina this weekend, and their North American festival debut is set for August when they’ll take the stage at Outside Lands. Keep an eye out for DARUMAS, if their intoxicating melodies don’t reel you in on their own. — Mary Siroky

Dizzy Fae — “My Baby Loves Me”

It’s tough to anticipate Dizzy Fae’s next move, and that is precisely why each one of her curveballs are so thrilling. Cheeky and cartoonish, her latest single “My Baby Loves Me” starts out in one era and ends up in another. Despite the stark contrast between the song’s two phases, she transitions through them with such conviction that the decades in between blur into one another. – Karan Singh
