Spotify is testing out a new feature called Offline Mix. While premium users are already able to download songs for offline listening, the latest feature would automatically save a few of your recently played songs to stream when you don’t have a connection.
CEO Daniel Ek took to Twitter to share that the company was working on the feature. A photo of the Spotify app shows a no-wifi logo, along with describing Offline Mix as a “mix of your recently played song for when the vibe is high, but your connection is low.”
Ek didn’t share when the feature would be available for the wider user base to try out firsthand. It will be helpful for when users simply forget to manually download a track they liked after they listen to it.
We’ve been testing out a new feature called “Your Offline Mix” – a playlist designed for those times when you might not be online ✈️
