After unleashing “President” last month with Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely, production powerhouse Southside continues to lean into his trap bag with his newest studio single. Assisted by the likes of LUCKI, “Elegant” is a rather reflective rap cut from the producer-rapper duo.
“I still drink syrup on the regular / Devil at the door I thought about lettin’ in / I still never choose y’all over medicine / I’m a dumb jock, five thousand on the letterman / How I make junkie look elegant,” LUCKI ponders on the slurry chorus over a more subdued Southside beat.
The producer has been hinting at a full-length project on his Instagram page, which would make sense given his consistent stream of recent singles. “Album almost here,” he reiterated in the caption for the “Elegant” visualizer.
“Elegant” marks the producer’s fourth produced single, joining the likes of “Hold That Heat” with Travis Scott and Future, “Gimme Da Lite” with Lil Yachty and “President.” He also hopped on Lil Durk’s “Save Me” back in 2022 and, more recently, contributed to Future and Metro Boomin‘s WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU projects.
