South Park has now announced a new special coming on Thanksgiving this year, once again focusing on the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Titled South Park: Post COVID, the upcoming film is the first of 14 spin-off movies promised by the show’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone as part of a recent $900 million USD deal with MTV Entertainment Studios and ViacomCBS which saw the series get renewed up until its 30th season.
While details revolving around its story remain scarce at this point, the title of the film suggests it’ll likely follow from the two previous COVID-centric specials, which began with South Park: Pandemic Special in August last year followed by South ParQ Vaccination Special in March earlier this year. The former was nominated for an Emmy and was the highest-rated scripted broadcast of the year, while the latter managed to bring in a whopping 3.5 million viewers.
For fans of the comedic series, you’ll be able to stream South Park: Post COVID on Paramount+ starting November 25.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Ana de Armas is in talks to lead the John Wick spin-off Ballerina.
