Sotheby’s Motorsport, a joint venture between RM Sotheby’s and Motorsport Network have announced the offering of a reserve-free 2022 Ferrari SF90 Spider as part of its inaugural auction.
The auction, which began August 15 will run until August 22, intentionally aligning itself with the most highly-anticipated car events of the year, Monterey Car Week.
To celebrate the significant week and partnership, Sotheby’s Motorsport has selected one of Ferrari’s most significant models of recent, with the SF90 acting as a nod to 90-years of the brand’s motorsport lineage. The vehicle also represents the future of the brand, as it expresses a pinnacle in hybrid hypercar technology, via a powertrain that produces an impressive 1,000 hp.
Thanks to its Twin-Turbo 4.0L V8 Plug-in Hybrid engine, the SF90 boasts a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of just 2.5 seconds. The particular example on offer from Sotheby’s Motorsport comes with just 300 miles on the odometer and is dressed in signature Rosso Corsa over a Nero leather interior.
