I’ve never met a jacket I didn’t like, and it’s becoming a problem. After one look at my coat closet, you’d tell me to chill out, but I can’t be stopped. I finally live in a cold enough climate where I need each type of coat on the market. Last spring, I bought a trench in every print and color available. Fall required suede jackets and chore coats. And winter, well, that requires wool, puffer, leather, and everything in between. Realistically, we still have at least three more months of weather that require a bit of outerwear, so I have no reason to hold back on these new arrivals. Below, you’ll find my favorites from Revolve, Banana Republic, Free People, and more. No matter the weather, the following 15 coats will be essential in the coming months.
Reformation
Asher Coat
To lighten the gloomiest of winter days, style a creamy coat over a white monochromatic look.
Lovers and Friends
Peyton Jacket
Chore coats are everywhere right now. I like that this one has a faux-leather collar.
Banana Republic
Drapey Trench Coat
If you live in a warmer climate, this light layer is ideal for creating a wintery look that will keep you from overheating.
Banana Republic
Minimalist Leather Jacket
My L.A. friends told me a cropped jacket like this one has been in their steady winter rotation.
We The Free
Easy That Canvas Jacket
I own this jacket in tan, and I can confirm it is the perfect light layer.
