Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have officially unveiled the first red band trailer of Kraven the Hunter.
The forthcoming superhero film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character/Sergei Kravinoff and explores his origin story. Viewers will see how his villainous father, played by Russell Crowe, left him for dead after a lion attack — the event that seemingly turned him into a superhuman — and his path of supposedly ridding “evil” from the world in the most violent and primal of ways. It also teases the arrival of Alessandro Nivola as Rhino.
As Sony’s first R-rated Marvel film, the trailer also promises more brutal action scenes, including one where Kraven bites an enemy’s nose off.
Joining Taylor-Johnson, Crowe and Nivola in the cast are Ariana DeBose as Calypso, Fred Hechinger as Kraven’s half-brother Dmitri Smerdyakov/Chameleon and Christopher Abbott as the main villain.
Check out the trailer above. Kraven the Hunter premieres October 6.
Elsewhere in entertainment, the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima movie adaptation is currently in “heavy development.”
