Sony Music Entertainment Stages Auditions for Virtual Talents

Sony Music Entertainment has started a new project titled “VEE”, aiming to discover and support the next generation of virtual personalities. The new venture aims to debut more than 50 individuals for music, voice acting, and creation, distribution, and video production.

The application conditions are simply someone who’s over 16 years old residing in Japan, can continue activities for one year or more, and “those who have a dream that they never want to give up.” There will be no audition participation fees, selection fees, or fees related to subsequent contracts.

With the constantly evolving nature of media, the exact scope of the content is yet to be fully defined. “You can concentrate on creating your own world view, regardless of the reality. You can create stories with your friends in real-time. You can challenge regardless of your career. The possibilities of Virtual Liver / VTuber are still in the process of being explored,” reads the VEE description. “From the day your talent blossoms, is recognized by the world, and your dreams come true, we will do our best to stay close to you and your character.”

The VEE project makes three promises: VEE members will be indistinguishable from Sony Music artists in terms of stardom and treatment, VEE will not rob your name or character. and the best stages will be prepared for virtual talents including daily support, live performances, commercial appearances.

Applications are now open on the Sony Music website until September 30th. If selected, the next steps include an online and in-person interview, followed by character design production and an official debut.
