According to reports, during its recent annual investor briefing, Sony discussed plans to turn three of its game titles into TV shows. Moving beyond just gaming, the company is set to create several series around its gaming properties for gamers and more to enjoy.
The briefing revealed that Horizon is being adapted for Netflix and the God of War franchise will be chronicled in an Amazon Prime TV show. Additionally, the wildly popular racing simulator Gran Turismo will be turned into a TV show by Sony PlayStation Productions. Though the streaming platform the Gran Turismo will be shown on has not been revealed just yet.
Sony IR – 3 positives in the presentation 1) Horizon (Netflix), God of War (Amazon) and Gran Turismo in TV development 2) 2 live service games coming in FY3/23 are not Destiny and 3) PC gaming revenues will surge 3.8x in FY3/23 (which I think relates to live service games) #sony
