Snoop Dogg is being sued for the alleged sexual assault of a woman in Anaheim, California, in 2013, TMZ reports and documents viewed by Pitchfork confirm. The woman, an actor, model, and dancer identified as Jane Doe, says that she attended a Snoop Dogg concert on May 29 that year.
In the lawsuit, Jane Doe alleges that Snoop Dogg’s associate Bishop Don “Magic” Juan took her to his home against her will and, the following morning, “removed his penis from his pants and forced his penis” into her mouth. The next day, according to the lawsuit, Juan allegedly took Doe to Snoop Doog’s studio, where Snoop Dogg is said to have cornered her in a bathroom stall and forced her into oral sex. Snoop Dogg allegedly “proceeded to masturbate and ejaculated on [Jane Doe]’s upper chest and lower neck.”
Jane Doe is suing Snoop Dogg for a violation of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, for sexual battery, and for sexual assault. In addition to Snoop Dogg and Bishop Don “Magic” Juan, the lawsuit names as defendants the companies Gerber & Co, Inc.; the Broadus Collection, LLC; Casa Verde Capital, LLC; and Merry Jane Events, Inc.
In a statement shared with Pitchfork, a spokesparty for Snoop Dogg said, “The allegations of sexual assault against Calvin Broadus (aka Snoop Dogg) are simply meritless.” The spokesparty continued, “To be clear, Mr. Broadus has never had any sexual encounter whatsoever with ‘Jane Doe.’”
The lawsuit was filed in a California federal court yesterday (February 9). It was reported yesterday, too, that Snoop Dogg acquired the legendary hip-hop label Death Row Records. He is scheduled to release a new album called B.O.D.R. (Bacc on Death Row) tomorrow, and, on Sunday, February 13, the rapper is slated to perform during the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI halftime show alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
