Thirty-one years after the arrival of their iconic album, Doggystyle, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have teamed up once again. Today, Snoop’s new Dre-produced album, Missionary, has finally arrived.
Released via Death Row, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope, Missionary is a quintessentially Snoop affair, featuring refreshed G-Funk-esque beats, lyrical wordplay, reminiscences on Snoop’s upbringing, and exciting guest appearances by the likes of Sting, Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Jelly Roll, the late Tom Petty, and many more.
To that end, Missionary is packed with plenty of unexpected moments. On the Sting-featuring “Another Part of Me,” you get to hear the Police frontman deliver uncharacteristic lines like “From the jump on the run, man, I walk away/ I’m the one, give a fuck what they got to say.” On “Last Dance with Mary Jane,” Snoop and Jelly Roll trade stories about how they’ve “seen some things,” with the titular Tom Petty sample serving as a hook in between.

Along with the arrival of Missionary on Friday, Snoop and Dre also shared a short film by the same name. Watch it below.
In other Snoop news, it was recently announced that he will co-produce and star in The Last Man, an upcoming Luc Besson film that will be “in the vein” of Planet of the Apes. Wrapping up 2024, Snoop will have a one-off performance in Lincoln, California on December 27th. Get tickets here.
